MIDDLEBORO BOLTS START REGULAR SEASON SLOW BUT FINISH
STRONG

The Middleboro Bolts of the Cranberry Baseball League went 10-
18-1 last season after a long hiatus from the league.  The Bolts
started their sophomore season with a 1-5 record.  However,
thanks to the depth of the pitching staff the Bolts got hot in July.
The Bolts defeated the top 4 teams in a matter of 9 days and in the
process clinched a playoff berth.  Bolts clinched a playoff berth with
a walk off win versus Rockland Cardinals 5-4.  They sealed their top
4 team roll with a convincing 9-1 win over top dog Braintree White
Sox in their season finale. Bolts finished up their regular season
schedule with a record of 14-13.

The Bolts had six returning players from last year’s team after doing
a complete makeover with an influx of new players.  The roster
consists of Craig Persechini, Tyler Horan and Michael Hughes of
Middleboro, Tony Luciani, Pat McDonough and Alex McCormick of
Weymouth, Nick and Brendan Cordeiro of Berkley, Blake
Youngblood and Rob Rushton of East Freetown, Michael Busa of
Carver, Brandon Sullo of Acushnet, Quirino doCanto, Andy Racicot,
Chris Salemme of Wareham, Jason Perry of Fairhaven, Casey
Askeland of Dartmouth, Tyler Noyes of Fall River, Ryan Whitty of
Raynham and Kyle St Thomas of Bridgewater.

The Bolts have qualified for the Stan Musial tournament that starts
this Saturday.  They will have to wait until Thursday evening to wait
and see what their seeding will be as well as their opponents and
field locations as well.
